The Buffaloes finished the season with a hard fought game with the Spartans. A rematch from 2 weeks earlier, proved to be a better game than before. The Buffaloes got down early when the Spartans took the opening drive 80 yards for their first score. The two teams battled back and forth until just before half time when Giles scored with 41 seconds remaining. Floyd Co. opened the second half with a 85 yard scoring drive and dominated the second half defensively. The Buffaloes got inside the 10 yard line twice, but failed to score to win the game.

The Buffaloes shutout the Bobcats to assure themselves a spot in the Region C Semi-finals. On a sloppy night, Floyd controlled the game with close to 300 yards of offense and only allowing Radford a little over 100 yards.
October 22, 2004
The Buffaloes score 15 unanswered points with 5 minutes to go in the game to stay undefeated. The Buffaloes take their first drive straight down the field and an apparent TD becomes an interception. Glenvar then scores 12 points in the second quarter for a half time lead of 12 - 0. The Buffaloes come out in the second half controlling the football, but ending three scoring drives, turning the ball over on downs three times. With 5 minutes to play in the game the Buffaloes scored their first TD and held the Highlanders on their next possession. The Buffaloes drove down the field and scored again with a little over a minute to go in the game. Floyd County held Glenvar to only one first down in the second half.

The Buffaloes open up district play with a big Homecoming win over Auburn. The Buffaloes scored 40 unanswered points to beat the Eagles 46 - 6. Floyd County turned the ball over on downs four times in the first half, but got on track in the second half scoring 34 points. The Buffaloes defense held the Eagles to 80 yards of total offense.
October 1, 2004
The Buffaloes traveled to Bassett on Friday night and came home 5 - 0. The first half ended in a 0 - 0 tie as both teams had field position to put points on the board. The Buffaloes struck first as they moved th ball down the field on a 78 yard drive, topped off by a TD by Chris Collins. Collins added the two point conversion on a pass from Daniel Grim to give the visiting Buffaloes a 8 - 0 lead in the third. The Bengals got in scoring position early in the fourth quarter, before fumbling inside the 10 yardline. The Buffaloes got held on downs and the Bengals blocked the punt and recover the ball at the 1 yardline. The next play was a QB sneak to score, but the two point conversion failed when the QB was sacked by Mitchell Reynolds. The Buffaloes then moved the ball down the field and capped off a 65 yard scoring drive with a pass from Grim to Ryan Browning on fourth and goal. The two point conversion failed.
Chris Collins carried the load on the ground with 21 carries for 124 yards. The Buffaloes defense gave up only 121 yards rushing and 21 yards passing. Leading the defense was James Turner, who had 10 tackles, including 1 sack for -2 yards. Mitchell Reynolds also played well with 9 tackles, 3 which were for loss of -15 yards. Five Buffalo defenders recorded fumble recoveries.

The Buffaloes come out after a week break to beat the Maroon Tide 53 to 7, with 5 players scoring. The Buffaloes offense was led by Chris Collins, who rushed for 108 yards on 18 carries and 4 TD's. Daniel Grim was 5 of 10 passing for 97 yards and 1 TD. Othes scoring were Michael Alston, JR Stuart, Michael Davis and Aaron Mathis, who picked up a fumble and returned it 15 yards. The defense allowed only 56 yards of rushing on 30 carries and 25 yards passing.

The Buffaloes produced several big plays to hand the Caviliers their second loss of the season. The Buffaloes took the opening drive 74 yds in 11 plays to take a early 6 - 0 lead. The PAT was blocked. The Caviliers were forced to punt after four plays and the Buffaloes moved the ball down the field. However, two back to back penalties stalled the drive. The Caviliers moved the ball down to the Buffaloes 21 yard line and tried a field goal on fourth and nine. The kick was blocked by Chris Collins and the Buffs took over posession of the ball. The Buffaloes threaten to score just before the half time break on a 39 yard pass completion from Daniel Grim to Mike Davis, who was brought short of the goalline as time ran out. The Caviliers drove the ball down the field after the second half kickoff and took the lead 7-6. The Buffaloes took the lead in the fourth quarter 14-7, when Grim hit Brandon Dooley in the end zone. Grim then connected with Davis for the 2 point PAT.
Grim was 11 of 16 passing for 172 yards and 1 TD. Brandon Dooley led the receiving corp with 6 receptions for 103 yards and a TD. Chris Collins carried the rushing load with 18 carries for 95 yards and 1 TD. The offense finished the night with 170 yards rushing and 172 yards passing. The defense held the caviliers to 92 yards rushing and 88 yards receiving. The defense was led by Lawrence Nichols, who racked up 16 tackles. One of the biggest plays of the night came from Mike Davis as he stripped the ball away from the Caviliers QB at the 1 yard line to keep the Caviliers from scoring late in the fourth.

The Buffaloes win their second game, beating the Rural Retreat Indians 30 - 13. The Buffaloes were led by the running game of Chris Collins, who rushed for 263 yards on 21 carries and 4 TD's. The Buffalo defense held the Indians to under 200 yards of total offense and forced 4 turnovers. Leading the defensive way was Aaron Mathis with 11 tackles, 3 of which were for losses totaling a negative 20 yards. Aaron also had a fumble recovery.

The Buffaloes traveled to Patrick County on Friday, August 27, 2004 to take on the Cougars in the opening game of the season. The Buffaloes overcame a rash of penalities to shut out the Cougars for the fourth straight year, winning 20 - 0. The offense posted 440 yards of total offense , while the defense held the Cougars to 160 total yards. The running game was led by Chris Collins, who rushed for 120 yards and two TD and the passing of Daniel Grim, who threw for 132 yards, with one TD.
Elsewhere in the District, Giles was handed their first loss by Blacksburg 21-7.
